DV89 and Jpeg display dissapointment.

Has anyone tried the jpeg display with DV89?

Running component to Iscan HD into Fujitsu 50" Plasma and they are squashed, and do not fill the whole screen.

Possibly needing to change DVD settings to ones not normally used?

Anyone got anny satisfaction with this?

I would also be interested in any answers. It does not show full screen when using scart to a CRT screen either.

can't believe you're using this player to display jpg, and then complaining about the quality!

WHy shouldnt I?
It claims to display JPEGS, it does so, but they are squashed and off centre, dont fill the screen and have 6" black borders, left/right/bottom and top of image is cut off.
I can use my Iscan to make into 4:3 format but thats not much better.

I can use a £30 dvd player to get a better result, but why should I when the arcam is permanantly connected and cost far far more.

It doesnt do what it says on the tin, no matter how small a feature it is to you. Sure I value its DVD playing ability, but not this and a couple of other niggles,

Why are things always seen as a complaint - are you not comfortable with your own machine.

I only bought my DV89 last month - really pleased with it - only looking to see if there was something in the settings that might make it better.

The cup is half full!

Did anyone get to the bottom of this?

I'm trying to play a CD written by iPhoto on the mac, and the Arcam just says 'Invalid' for each picture.

The manual is really unhelpful, so I've no idea what sort of JPG it expects, or what's wrong with the ones that I've burn't to the CD.

Can anyone shed some light on the restrictions that the DVD player has for JPEG file display?

Cheers,

Paul.

try re-writting th cd with cd burning software that just sees the jpeg or other file type, but the image displayed could be a lot better considering a £50 dvd player can display better
