Hi all.
Lent my terminator R1 to a so called mate:( and it has come back scratched up and now jumps even after cleaning:mad: Why the hell do i bother lending dvds out:thumbsdow
Anyway i may upgrade to the R2 jap but i need to know first if it contains the original mono like the R1?I hate how the 5.1 remixes have changed the sound of the gun shots etc.
Thanks for looking any help would be much appreciated.
Rob
There is not a original mono track on the japanese R2 edition.
Cheers

maggi,
Thats a shame:(
Cheers for your help
Rob
i believe the R4 version does, but not 100% certain.
The only versions containing the original mono track are the US R1 editions.

I'm sure my very early French DVD has a mono track. I'll get back to you later

Rob,
He may be your best mate but everyone has different standards. He probably was none the wiser. Some people just chuck their stuff around and think nothing of it while others look after their things.
I don't usually lend any of my posessions to anyone for this reason. Sounds selfish but that's the way it is. I always wash my hands and try and keep my media imaculate. The odd fingerprint is sometimes unavoidable but I tend not to wipe those off if playback is unafected. Wiping with anything dry usually causes scratches, even if you can't see them.
I even get edgy when my brother (who is also very careful) plays my dvds/cds. This irational behaviour even encompasses treatment of the boxes/cases.
Lets hope when HD DVD, or whatever it's going to be called, comes out the disc is protected in a caddy like with MiniDisc. Perhaps this will lead to less heartstopping incidents for myself. :)
Simon
P.S. Slightly off topic I know, I may start a new thread to see if fusspotts like me are comonplace. ;)

Cheers Drunken master,do you know what the pic quality is like?i think i might just get another R1.
Thanks for your reply cosaw, your absolutly right about different standards some people dont care, but i hate having a scratched or marked disc its just my own comfort level.I also agree with you about wiping with anything dry when you hold up to the light you can see really fine scratches. :thumbsdow
I do hate lending discs out i really try and avoid it but some people just go on and on untill i eventually give in :suicide:

PQ looks fine to me. a bit darker than the R1, more like the version shown on TV 1.85 transfer as well.
