Lens & Scheimpflug help needed ??

Hi All,

Well i'm tweaking my PJ, and put all the details in the Lens program.

It came out with the figures that i needed, but what i need to know is what is the difference between Horizontal & Vertical Scheimpflug ?? And how do i translate that to the lenses on the PJ ?? (Barco Data 801s)

Just show's you the washers in the manual, ok i can pack the washers to the details from the lens program. But how does this information translate to the lens studs ?? And which studs are horizontal and which are vertical ??

Very confused ??

Hope someone can explain this in easy terms ??

I think i've sorted it, got some advice off the AVS Forums.....and that seems to have sorted this problem.

All i need to do is sort out the blue tube now....see other thread posted.

The top and bottom will be vertical nad the left and right horizontal.
Messing with differnt washers is fine but I use differnt layers of tin foil (KitKat wrapper is best)

Cheers for the info Roland, still working on the corner focus.

How do i know it's spot on ?? It looks sharp but the bars of a grid pattern still look fat ??

Where does the electronic focus and astig come into play ??

The focus is correct when it is the same sharpness across the screen. Having said that optics are never perfect and the corners may always be a little less sharp. However they should all be the same.
The bars on a barco test pattern are wider vertically than they are horizontally.

The Electronic focus and asitigmatism were set up correctly when I sold it to you. I see no reason why they should need to change.

Ok Thanks Roland,

I'll keep playing with the edge focus, and i don't need to worry about the Astig & electronic focus.

When i was doing the focus, i just noticed the bars on the "Nokia Test Program" do have a flared edge to them.

I suppose this still means that the focus isn't 100%, and the convergance still need tweaking. As i can see a blue haze above and below some horizontal lines on the blue tube ?? (That's on screen and not on the CRT !!) Red looks pretty good.

And the other thing i know i'm not going to get the blue as sharp, as the red & green, as blue is the most difficult to set-up, and prefers to be just off focus. (Is this correct ??)
