The last thing TV needs is an objective car review show - that's what's almost killed TG off (on many an occasion).

It's entertainment - and a sorely needed reaction against simpering pc sandal wearing tofu munching ****-suckery left wing nonsense that the pseudo-intellectual anti car lobby would have any decent red blooded male with a hint of 5-star-in-his-blood watch instead.

Try to think in 'figures of speech' not absolutes.

I really like Top Gear great programme. I liked that right car, wrong car too but that has disappeared.

I don't mind it as much as when they first moved to the new format. Would have preferred it if they kept the old format but extended it to 1 hour. Anyway, television needs Top Gear with the sheer lack of any decent car programmes on any of the channels.

Well said mate. I for one will be book marking this on my SKY remote. Wifey will have to get used to another 10(?) weeks of Clarksons diatribes every Sunday night.

Just wish they would repeat it one night of the week on one of their multitude of digital channels as I missed a few of the last series.

I like the program and so does the wife. Didn't realise it had anything to do with serious reviews of cars though!!

One of my favourite one liners came from the last series when Simon Cowell went round the track. In the pre-interview a comment was made about pop idol Garath Gates and the fact that Clarkeson could beat him in a game of snap!

Had me and the wife in tears

alan,

Do you remember what Simon said about Gareth? I hope something bad

I'm not a fan of Gareth, hence the question

I really enjoy the new format of the show - it was getting very stale in its old guise. Nicely put Confucius - don't let the yoghurt-knitters grind you down

I liked the bit when Simon Cowell beat Clarkson round the track, and Clarkson said something along the lines of "Right, next week we'll get Damon Hill on the show"

What cars are people looking forward to seeing tested and generally thrashed to unconsciousness?

Aston DB9 has got to be a good start, BM 6 series, Alfa Coupe...

Any others?

Porsche Carrera GT & BMW M5 - I just HAVE to hear what these road-going V10 engines sound like!

No thanks. Just a Merc SLK in Yank jewellery. There's a Chrysler dealership across the road from work and all the test drivers appear to be women.
