These are only guidelines- as we steadfastly refuse to live in identical sized rooms .
Sub volume should be one third to one half way when setting using test tones- if your room is a biggie (I leave you to decide if this is the case) you may want to increase the volume slightly when doing the tests. Your crossover setting is dependent on relevant speakers but look at 100hz for satellites and 70-80hz for larger units- down to 50-60hz for biggies. Danny-P what is causing your subwoofer to cut out is clear at the moment, but if your settings are sizably different to those above it may be cutting out to protect itself.
As I've said before, the notch filters are individual settings dependent entirely on the room and the fittings therin.

There's very few controls.
Power on, off
High level- speaker cable input
low level phono inputs left, right in (use left), left, right out.
Volume
Crossover- these explained above
Phase- switches between 0 and 180 degree phase
Notch filter On/Off- Should you have a BFD
Filter Freq- adjusts the frequency the filter is active at
Filter cut- adjusts the amount of db the filter cuts at the notch point.
You need the disc to set this- if it didn't arrive, I have spares and can send them on the receipt of a PM
Ed

Hi there...The volume @ the back of my sub out of the box was nearly on full volume as was the frequency so i've turned it down to around half way and it seems fine
Thanks for the reply but being a total newbie with subs and their settings could you please go into a little more detail explaining the back of the sub?
i'm using the left low level input and have sub vol just over half way at the moment.
Is The crossover the frequency? If so i'm confused as which setting to put it on as i have large floor standing fronts and smallish rears/centre and my bedroom is 7mx4m.
Hopefully this link of my exact speakers will work:-
http://www.eltax.com/products/produc...=Light%20beech
Is it also true that you use phase at 0 for music and 180 for movies?
Thanks

Crossover is indeed freq and although Eltax claim a 35hz minimum, I would look towards about 70hz as a starter or maybe a bit higher if you want. Phase is indeed applied in that way although mine is permenantly at 0 degrees- I do have two 909's though .
