Sony VTX-D800 Common Interface?

Hi Everyone,

I've noticed that on the DVB Product Certifiction list under Sony:

http://www.dvb.org/index.php?id=104&mid=2476

Their freeview box VTX-D800U is listed as passing amongst other specs "DVB-CI" which is the Common Interface specification.

Now my Aunt has this box, but I couldn't find a common interface slot anywhere on it, and neither could others on the digitalspy forum who own this box. So I initially I thought it might just be a typo or error, and that the D800 doesn't have a CI slot.

However, curiosity got the better of me, and I wrote a letter to Sony asking why the product is listed as passing DVB-CI if it *doesn't* have a common interface.

Here's the response:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mr *********,

Thank you for your e-mail enquiry.

I can confirm that the VTXD800 is DVB Compliant and does have a DVB common
interface.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards
Mr *************

So apprently the box *does* have a Common Inferface. But I'm buggered if I can find it.

Are there any volunteers who own one( who's confident enough) to remove the cover to peek inside and investigate the possibility the common interface is hidden on the inside of the product?

I'd do this, but I haven't got one, and my aunt probably wouldn't be too thrilled if I even mildly took hers apart....

Cheers!
