CD-WOW - to become a 'member' or not ?

Hello, and Happy Easter to everyone :hiya:

I've used CD WOW for over 6 months, have never had a problem, and have used the different discount tricks many times :)

One thing i've avoided though is the option to become a member and take advantage of the following benefits:

- Store multiple delivery addresses - No more form filling!
- Special offers available exclusively to WOW! members.
- Complete order history, all in one place for easy viewing.
- Wishlists for storing interesting titles.
- Easy access to your preferences.

So my questions are: if I become a member...

- will they somehow stop me using all the great discount tricks, especially the 50p email vouchers etc ? If so, how do they stop me?

- if I did a multiple order, which cost over £18 would I/could I expect to get hit with import duty etc ?

- Can I still order 1 DVD or CD at a time using the discount tricks aok ?

- I usually pay by Switch, is this best or should I use a CC instead ? Will it still allow me to choose how to pay ?

For those that are CD WOW members already, what would your advice be to those like myself ? Positive and negative comments welcomed please.

I can't think of any disadvantages of becoming a member.

- No.

- Each item is sent individually, so unless an item is greater than £18 in value on its own you won't get stung.

- Yes.

- No different to not being a member.

How long is it that you have to use them or be a member before receiving the 50p email vouchers.

I haven't seen any major advantages / disadvantages to being a member. Once you order off them, they have your details, email / home address etc. anyway.

I think I've had two 50p vouchers off them in about a year, last one because I hadn't ordered off them for a while, but they usually expire before I remember to use them :(

Has anyone who is a member had a problem using any of the discount links from these forums?
If not, I'd say become a member if you want to make it slightly easier to order and get some email offers (can't remember any for members only offers though)

Being a member is safe.
You can see what you have bought in your order history and it will save you time filling your personal details.
As for payment, well I have always used my credit card on the internet, just to be on the safe side. I'm not saying that it is "dodgy" paying by debit card to well known companies but it is that unknown factor and that you have more clout if things go wrong when paying by credit card.
