Robin Duvall to retire from the BBFC!

Hi People,

For those of you interested in film censorship and classification in Britain, you may be interested to know that current BBFC Director, Robin Duvall, will be retiring soon.

He is to be replaced, but by "open competition": that is, a free-for-all from the British Public/Media/Government. As such, anyone could, in theory, get the job. Let's just hope Jack Straw doesn't apply?! Remember his ideas to ban films like "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan" for home viewing, back in the late 1990's?! :mad:

lets hope that it continues in the direction its been moving for the last few years - i really hope its not going to be draged back to the victorian era by the likes of mr straw.

Apart from banning they should have made them compulsory viewing, to show the inhumanity of man on man bigotry brings about, and the horror of war.:lesson:
