Hi People,
For those of you interested in film censorship and classification in Britain, you may be interested to know that current BBFC Director, Robin Duvall, will be retiring soon.
He is to be replaced, but by "open competition": that is, a free-for-all from the British Public/Media/Government. As such, anyone could, in theory, get the job. Let's just hope Jack Straw doesn't apply?! Remember his ideas to ban films like "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan" for home viewing, back in the late 1990's?!
Details in the News section of the BBFC site, or click on...here instead. (http://www.bbfc.co.uk/website/2000About.nsf/30e9a418a8cbab068025691c003b0bc4/5190185c395f8e1280256e4d003c16e1?OpenDocument)
