film music query
Some time ago, I watched a film featuring a young kevin costner called 'fandango', the film was'nt too bad but the one thing that I loved about this film was a short sequence near the end of the film when costner dances with his ex for the last time after she marries one of his best friends - the music featured during the sequence is light jazz/rock and very beautiful - if short, does anyone know who the artist/s is and if its available on cd?

I looked it up for you and the only non original that is supposed to be used in the film was Shostakovich:Sym. 8. They could have jazzed it up a bit. I have part of it on the Rollerball LP so I will look later today if it could be the one.

No it definitely is not that, as it is a bit like music to slit your wrist by , and although it is just the first movement I cannot see it getting any better.

I just did some more digging and found out some track used in the film are available on CD probably the one you want as well they are listed here.
Quote :Jeff Copeland says: the song everybody likes in the wedding scene is performed by the great Pat Metheny. In the scene where Kevin Costner is holding up his drink in Mexico (the end shot), the song that is playing is Farmer's Trust by Pat Metheny. Two really wonderful songs.
But I think the one you want is Goodbye friend.
