i've heard about calibration discs mentioned on this forum where do you get them and what do they do

If I'm currently running Sky into vga via a JS RGB/VGA converter is it fair to say that the vga input can be calibrated using the disc by simply running the dvd player scart into the JS box instead of Sky, and reconnecting the Sky feed once complete????

As recommended, get yourself a copy of DVE or Avia.

What do you think to your new panny then? better than the philips (mines fleabaying at the moment ready for a projector)

Don't get Avia if you want to calibrate Sky though as it's NTSC only.

So how exactly do you calibrate Sky if connected to the vga input??
you could use the DVE pal version, through dvd into the imput u use for sky.
i done this and it confused me even more, best way is to just use what looks good to you,:grin: :grin:

you asked about my pa20
it is better than the phillips i had, not perfect but i am still happy, no where near as much banding/solarisation so my nightmare is finally over i have just recieved an email from phillips telling me how to cure the banding problems they said " turn off digital natural motion.dynamic contrast and digital noise reduction it took phillips 6 weeks and 6 emails to get this reply and some of my emails were a bit daming.
did phillips think i hadn't tried all of the above!
I FOUND OUT HOW TO CURE THE BANDING ON MY PHILLIPS 9955 IT WAS SIMPLE JUST GIVE THE PILE OF S**T BACK TO COMET
