I want high-def material. Especially after the Event II!
I'm thinking of getting a US D-Theater VCR as a high-def source for my projector. Apparently the D-Theater tapes can work out at about £22 delivered.
I currently rent a lot of the DVD's I watch and only buy those that seem particularly special to me.
From the Widescreen Review articles D-Theater tape importing sounds like going back to the Laserdisc days, i.e head and sholders above the other media formats but you have to buy every film to watch it.
As there are probably under 1000 HD capable displays in the UK and millions in the US, I assume we are looking at "region 1" US sourced films/episodes.
Are there any media sharing rings where films are lent and borrowed, or any other media sources, like hard-disk that anyone knows of?
Fell free to PM me if it's private or sensitive.
Oh and the other obvious source I can think of is the Windows Media Terminator2 DVD I bought that doesn't apparently play without a US based IP address or proxy server, so I guess that's not really workable in the UK.
Your comments and experience very much appreciated.
cheers,
Rob.
