Digital Cable Options

I have a home theater with a projector that will accept digital cable with HDTV. We have used the theater to watch DVD movies and no television. We usually view television on a Sony rear projection unit located in another room. Next week I am having digital cable installed. The installers are bringing one digital box with HDTV capabilities for my home theater and another box for my Sony televion. My question is ... Is there anyway to utilize one box instead of two with the setup I described above. If so. how do I change channels on two seperate units with one box? Thanks for your input.
