Got a new HTPC (built it myself), downloaded an HD scene of the Shuttle taking off. Tried to play through Windows Media Player and all I got is a very jerky play back. Well, when I say playback, I mean a picture and then few seconds later another picture and so on.
My PC is:
Intel 3.2Ghz 800Mhz FSB
1Gb of DDR RAM
ASUS Radeon 9800XT Graphics
600Mb HDDs
Windows XP
So, I assumed I would have a PC with enough power to be able to play back HD. Am I doing something wrong? How do you get smooth playback?
Any help gratefully appreciated.
