Printer help please

I have a HP deskjet 970cxi and using hp cartridges is great but they cost a fortune!!!

So I got some pcworld own brand ones and now only have problems :(

I got 2 pcworld coour carts and one of them only prints black and yellow, no cyan or magent

the other only prints black and cyan no magenta or yellow!!!

I read somewhere its the chip in the cart and there is a way to get them working properly but cant remember where i saw it?

Anyone here able to help ??

Failing that I may take the carts back and shove um up customer services botts and get a new printer instead.

Hi Kramer,

Yes tried head cleaning, printer head allignement several times over.

Its got something to do with the electronics on the carts.

Someone posted a link to a little add that reset them buggers a while ago (Lynx I think).

Didn't work on my Epson but you might be lucky.

Worth a search anyway.

Only works on Epsons (not mine though :().

Took the carts back to pc world this morning.

The guy pointed to the electronic contacts and said theyre the problem, go and get 2 HP ones if you want.

I asked if I could have the value of a new printer instead, no problem he said :)

Not bad considering I bought the carts months ago, had no receipt and bought them with a buy any 2 carts for £10 each voucher ;) heehhehehe
