Just ordered a Pentium 4 2.4. and an Asus p4p800 VM mobo to upgrade my system. Current mobo is an Asus CUSL2 running a Celeron 900. I have a Q Techonology PSU which I bought form QuietPC a couple of years ago and is still silent now.

I hear that a PSU has to be P4 compatible. What does this mean and will mine be OK? DO I need any special connectors or anything. The Current 300W PSU's on QuietPC's site say they are OK but mine is a bit older.

Just wondering if I need to get a new one as I need to order a new P4 cooler (Zalman 7000) and might as well get the new PSU at the same time. Any ideas?

For the PSU to be P4 compatiable it has to have an +12v power connector.

If you current PSU has an extra 4pin connector with yellow & black wires then you should be fine.
