Which Broadband Company would you recommend.

I have just moved and am missing Live already! Used to have a cable modem, my new place now has a BT landline. I'm thinking about ordering BT broadband - anyone else here use this service and have any comments?

Any other recommendations for broadband supplier?

Don't use BT, use someone like Zen or Nildram - its the same service just better customer care.

Neil

Agree with Neil's comments above. BT service is appalling (even when you can get hold of them) whereas Nildram is first rate.

Nildram has always been good for me, not the cheapest though!

I use Force9 / Plus Net - same company, always a fast connection and customer services are very good, technical line is only local rate call if needed.

PlusNet have excellent customer service and good prices. The package I'm on also gives you a lot in the way of web hosting facilities such as FP server, mySQL etc and also gives you a static IP.

I used to be on BTOpenworld and they were the pits in respect of customer service, price and extras.

If you want to get a good idea of how these companies rate, check out the forums over at Adslguide.

Not only do they have monthly speed tests for the ISPs, they also have lots of feedback from users.

Personally I'm with Pipex. Pretty decent but their mail servers are a bit sad, good thing I have my email elsewhere really...

I use pipex and have been very happy with the level of service and connection speed. Mailservers have been down a couple of times but other than that wouldn't hesitate in recomending them.
