Cheers for that jmack - it does say 'No Pal Prog Scan' - anyone know if theres a firmware upgrade to get aroung this. Bar having it upgraded to FMJ DV27A of course.
i`m not sure but maybe that manual was put up before pal prog was allowed i`m sure if it does ntsc it can do pal

All DV27's can do PAL P/S. The only difference now is of course it's legal(if that's the correct word) and wasn't as such a while back.
I bought one of the first DV88+, and the PAL P/S issue was that new, it hadn't made the owner's manual.

Perhaps a better link to post would be the
ARCAM DVD Player Unofficial FAQ at http://www.envytech.co.uk/arcamdvd/ ; although the firmware details are out of date, the rest of the page is accurate.
As robocop says all three models of DV27 are PAL progressive scan capable; but if you have an original DV27 (not the DV27+ or DV27A) you may need to upgrade the firmware to enable this.

I have the original DV27 and it has the option to use PAL PS in an hidden menu... :smashin:
I beta tested the very first DV27 and it was always in there if you knew where to go! Course mine has a VGA socket too!

All DV27s can output progressive RGB as well as YUV.

I would like to know how Jenz got the VGA socket and if it is better...
I did some BetaTesting for Arcam on the DV27 prior to launch which included a "special" Prog Scan board with VGA Output. It's actually no better imho than the standard connectors.
