Heat R2 disc problem?

I decided to watch heat last night but half way through the film it froze for a few moments and returned to the main menu screen. The disc is clean and has no scratches on it. I tried a few times and the same thing happened at the same point in the film.
I have had this disc for a while (over a year) and dont know where I bought it.
Do you think there is any chance of getting it replaced by the manufacturer?
Is it common for discs to become faulty after a while?

The disc may be faulty but try it in another DVD player. Some DVD players skip or freeze with certain discs while it may still play fine on another model DVD player. I have noticed this with a few DVDs as some play with freezing when using a Pioneer 565 universal player in the lounge, while my Sony 525 in another system plays it without freezing. Though this is very rare and have only noticed it with 2 or 3 DVDs.
