Calibration disks and HDMI & iLINK

I'm considering getting one of the AVIA DVD's from Piero in the Power Buys forum but I want to confirm that it will work with the iLINki and HDMI outputs on the 868/504/AX5i.
Will it make any difference using these outputs over the more standard co-ax and component/scart outputs or is the connection type irrelevant?

I can't see that the connection should make any difference.

The changes made using Avia are to the settings in your components, which take effect regardless of connection type.

As long as the parameters affected by these settings occur in the digital domain (ie HDMI output) I would think the effects would be global.

Thanks for the reply.
I've since read a few posts however that the AVIA disc is based on the US NTSC format and therefore probably won't be ideal for my equipment/configuration.
