I am thinking of getting a DVD Recorder for my pc, what are the differences between dvdr- and dvdr+ discs, and would it be better to buy a drive that can use both, forgive my ignorance on this, i am fairly new to Computers.....Cheers

From PC useage there is very little difference between plus and minus formats. The former (plus) has a few technical advantages that debatably make it more reliable when burning, but most minus drives have had improvements made to the basic design which have equalled or (in Pioneer's case) improved upon them.

Given the cost of dual-format drives you might as well opt for one of those. Good models are available from Pioneer (106, A06):

If there is any likelihood of you buying a set-top DVD recorder in the lifespan of the drive/computer you should seriously think about an all format drive such as:

Cheers for the advice, i am considering the pioneer which looks good value.

I bought the Pioneer 106 from Dabs about a month ago and paid over £100 then.
Can't believe how much it has reduced in such a short space of time but the burner was great value at the price i paid so i would definitely recommend the purchase.
