AV8 vs AVR300

This might sound like a stupid question so forgive my ignorance but can someone explain what this difference will be between these 2 items as they seem fairly similar to me.

The avr300 seems to offer all the same modes for films as the av8 dplII, 7.1 etc , the av8 just seems to have more potential for expansion with the p7 , IS this all?

I hope they are not the same, the AV8 is twic ethe price :confused:

Hi,

As I am sure you are aware AV and music playback is not all about features. Whilst the AV8 does in fact have much more flexibilty in set up than the AVR300, the most important differance between the two is the performance of the audio and video.

The AVR300 is very good for a reciever, (I'd like to think it is one of the best but I am biased) however compromises are required to put all the electronics in one box and to reduce the price.

So whilst I could come up with a list of the feature differences between the two products this would be missing the point.

My Arcam dealer in Holland told me he expects the AVR300 to arrive at the end of this month. Well, I'm sure that's not the case, right!?
And it was gonna be 2198 euro, which is more than GBP1500. Just a bit more than I thought... :'(
