presets from the av8
Dear people I own a av8 and i'm wondering if i use and untherstand all the benefits of it.
I eard somewhere that you could attach a setting to a input.
IF this is true this would solve a lot off explaining to my wife and daughter.
What I want is making a preselection lets call it "JEROEN AV".
In this preselect I put the sub on ,the speakers on large etc.etc.
But now for the (my) mind breaker.
I want to connect this pre select to a input button .
So if my wife wants to use the tele she only has to select the input button "av "and automaticly preselection "jeroen av"is activated.
This would be perfect because she (i) never have to go to the first menu ,to select the av setting .
Hop I explained it oke .AND hope someone can help me
Kind regards jeroen

Jeroen,
I will have a look at mine once I have the latest software update as I beleive that some of what you want to do here is in V3 of the software, but don't take my word for it .........................actually having re-read your query it may not be software dependant, I'll look into it later.
Regards
John

Hi,
Unfortunately you cannot assign a preset to an input. The reason for this is that presets can change the input so you could end up in a never ending loop of the preset changing the input which calls up a preset changing the input etc, also I understand from the software engineer there are to many different ways for the inputs to be accessed for this to work in the software.
However you can solve this problem if you use a programmable remote such as a Pronto as this can be programed to send out commands that call up the presets directly (the codes are in the back of the manual). So you would need to create a button on the pronto and call it "jeroen av" for example. This would call up the preset directly setting the input to AV and the processing and speaker settings you want . You could create up to 5 of these sudo inputs.
Sorry I can't offer you a simpler solution.
Regards,
Andrew

Thanx!
I do not know what kind of sofwre version a have does anyone know HOW i can see this AND if a newer one only has benefits ?
Just one more question.
I was using a dvd (avia) dvd to set all the levels.
they where all equall on 75 db .
But when I used the dts track on the dvd and was controlling the levels they where not equall at all ???? the left spekers was for instant higher than the right and the backs stood out to the center????
how can this be the AVIA is known as oke .
Good this be something in the software?(maybe not updated??)
hope you someone knows

Jeroen,
If my memory serves me correct, to get the software version on the AV8 you press and hold "CD", "DVD", "OK"
Regards
John
