Noisy DV88

Hi,

When I play DVD's the drive of my DV88 is virtually silent, and playback is excellent.

But, when I play a CD, the unit makes a ticking noise that is just loud enough to hear at normal playing volumes. If you put your hand on top of the player above the drive the ticking is silenced.

Why does this happen on CDs but not DVDs. I sense a call to customer support...

James

UPDATE:

I sent the email to customer support on Monday and still have heard nothing, not even an acknowledgement.

Is this usual?

James

Arcam have very strong anti-spam filters, so you need to be precise/carefull what you put in the heading field, as JD has mentioned in the past that they get a lot of rubbish sent to them.
No doubt JD will confirm this.
Their custommer service is beyond reproach, as people here will tell you.

James,
Give them a call, that is the best way as Kevin has said their anti spam filters are pretty strong. If you phone them you will find them very good.

Regards
John
