Phil
Top marks for a excellent in depth review. I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive! The region 3 really does sound like the definitive version. I just hope my copy arrives soon.

I paid £24.99 for this from Movietyme, a week later they put up the price to £34.99 - I agree it's not worth it unless you worship the movie and will do anything to get the best version...

Given that this is distributed in the UK by Columbia, you can bet that sometime next year they'll release this as a R2 superbit.

yesasia are selling it for about 20 pounds. I ordered this and the jap version of the transporter from them for 40 pounds in total - they have a special on at the mo where it's free shipping over a certain order amount.

Just ordered it. Price is just inside the customs limit too!
Didn't fancy anything else at the mo. so I paid the cheap rate
delivery but it still only came to £21.
Thanks again for the heads up :smashin:

I ordered my copy from www.Koreandvds.com
It's priced at $22. That works out at under £14. I also ordered Fight Club (2 disc) dts for $14. That converts to just over £8.
Very cheap, but the shipping for both discs works out at around £9.50. (Air mail service) For both discs it cost me around £31 delivered.

Not a bad price!

Here's the link for BHD

They're other bargains on the site like Cliffhanger dts for $16

It's the first time I 've ordered from this particular company, however I 've noticed that on various threads they're forum members who do use this company and it is listed in the recommended retailers!
Their prices are excellent. The only down side is they do charge for posting, but it still tends to be cheaper than most. I've found that the best way to order is to order a few titles together and speard the postage/shipping. This way you get a better deal!

Have a look through the site! There's some gems in there at silly prices!

Is this version any different from the Scandinavian release (with dts) ?

Phil Hinton

Yes it is a four disc set, everything is in english, even the menus.

Just saw the film - truly awesome sound in dts. And the picture is great as well. Spot on review.

I found the packaging to be a bit flimsy though - the cardboard doesnt look very durable.

Loafer316

Mines has been shipped! whats's even better is that while browsing i saw the Spiderman dvd limited edition gift set with comic, film cell etc for just under £10! in the clearence section, checked now and the price has gone back up to £30.....

anyone ever had trouble with customs shopping with yesasia?

Phil,
I'd like to thank you for yet another excellent (and accurate)
review. I probably wouldn't have bothered with this film if I
hadn't read what you said as I'm not really into "war" films but
I found this to be thoroughly enjoyable. And the sound WAS
truly stunning :smashin:

The definitive version of this movie has to be the japanese Collector“s Box.

maggi,
I think you'll find that the R3 which Phil reviewed and which
I have got is even better. The film quality ( video and sound )
is identical and so are the extras but you also get a bonus cd
of the soundtrack which is also very good. Also, the packaging
and the menus are all in English.

I own the japanese one ,and it“s very nice
It has the DTS sound + all the commentary“s .

Cheers
