AVR280 Remote problem

Problem with CR100 remote on AVR280 perhaps coincidentally following attempts to set it up to control other devices.

The volume and mute buttons work.
Input selector buttons and display button don't work (probably others but I haven't tried).
Mode button switches input to SAT
Amp button doesn't seem to do anything.
Cursor keys don't work properly in menu - to move cursor up down uses left right keys and vice versa. OK doesn't work. Can't select main setup items.
I've followed the manual instructions on resetting the remote lots of times also tried removing batteries.

Any ideas to fix, or is the remote broken?

Thanks
Doesn't work in this case.
Update, all buttons produce nothing on the display (apart from as noted in my first post) except CH right key which now functions as the MODE button.

Re: AVR280 Remote problem

Glad I am not the only one to have this problem. I first thought it was result of trying to program it so I have stopped trying to do that, but currently on my 5th remote in 18 months.

Thankfully my local dealer is very helpful, and after the first 2 were sent back to Arcam which confirmed they were faulty they now just swap my remote with their demo units to stop me waiting for Arcam to return a new one.

The last time it happened it was when the batteries ran out, but has also been mid movie. I pressed play and all ok, 90 minutes later and try stop and its doing the behaviour described above. I cant believe I am that unlucky to have so many broken ones so I think there is a real probelm with the CR100.

Re: AVR280 Remote problem

Thanks
I was hoping for a quick fix from those in the know but it seems likely it is a duff remote. I've contacted Arcam support.
I'm going to be a bit annoyed if this becomes a saga like yours flysi of returning remotes time after time, especially as I bought mail order and the postage costs will start to mount up.

Re: AVR280 Remote problem

I've started to suffer the exact same problem as described by the poster with my cr100. It works all other components fine apart from the amp itself.

I spoke to Arcam support this morning and they are sending me a new remote.

Would be interested to hear if anyone else has had this issue and specifically if the original poster's issue was resolved.
