Is Apple TV right for me?

Hi guys,

As I am in the process of totally redoing my AV anything remotely AV based is of great interest to me...

I am also a massive Apple fan.

Now I "think" I want the ATV but I still do not understand all of it's features, I have an iPhone 4, iPad, Macbook and iMac with various different media on each, all through iTunes.

Am I right in thinking that the ATV will enable me to listen to my iTunes music and films from all 4 devices?

Now the lack of any storage in the ATV did concern me however I think I am misunderstood. Am I correct in saying I will buy/rent films from my iTunes account on any of the 4 devices and stream them via the ATV onto my HDTV?

Hi Mate,

You might want to read through this thread,

http://www.avforums.com/forums/apple...-plex-9-a.html

You might be better off with a Mac Mini and Plex 9 installed. The new Apple TV doesnt have an HDD anymore its used for streaming only, and you have to abide by iTunes rediculously strict standards.

I'm in the process of setting up a Mac Mini with Plex on it and am really liking it at the moment!

But to answer your question...

Yes, Apple TV will allow you to easily stream your iTunes/Idevice media straight to your TV without any cocking about for £99 and about 4 minutes to set it up.

Unlike any other option.
