TVersity - Alternative media server?

Hi guys

Just bought my first mac yesterday :D

On my windows laptop i used TVersity to stream my files to my Bravia, was wondering of theres a similar piece of software for mac?

Have a look at Elgato's EyeConnect software (which is what I use) or Flowserver (Twonky)

It most definitely has to be Plex All the way. The Server part has DLNA built in, for streaming to your TV, and you can install the Client part on any number of computers at home for playing direct from the Server.

Server and Client can go on one machine too, so that you can use the awesome GUI for playback.

All free too!

Hi

Sorry to jump in here, Im looking to stream media from my iMac to my PS3. Do I install Plex Media Centre or Plex Media server?

The Server is the powerful back end of things that manages all of your media and looks up metadata to make things pretty when you do come to stream to the Client.

The Client is the front end to utilise the power of the Server whilst generating a rich smooth GUI.

In your circumstance you would only need the Server part as would be using the PS3 as the Client in DLNA mode.
