Make Yamaha RX A 3010 see Imac

Hi guys, first post on here so I hope I’m not duplicating.

I have an RX A3010 connected to my network. BT Home hub 3. Likewise a windows PC running windows 7. Without any configuration the Yamaha recognized the PC and allows me to play music from Itunes. I have just connected an iMac 2011 running Lion to the same hub and expected the Yamaha to see the Mac. No such luck. Any ideas on how to make Yamaha see the Mac? Tried Yamaha support, they didn’t know!

You need to use a third party DLNA server in conjunction with OS X and Apple Macs. Windows boxes have DLNA capabilities built in, but Macs don't. Try a free solution such as PS3 Media Server or a payed solution such as Twonky. PS3 Media Server is probably the better of the 2 options and there are also other options available.
