iPhoto Question

I have imported all my photos using iPhoto 09. Question is where are the photos exactly on my harddrive as I can not find them anywhere and I want to ensure they are in folders etc..

Re: iPhoto Question

in your home folder in the Pictures folder there is a file called "iPhoto Library". This is the package containing all your iPhoto data

If you right-click on this file and choose "show package contents" you can drill down to the directory where the photo files themselves are located. From memory i think they are in folders called "originals" and "modified" or something like that

Re: iPhoto Question

Don't mess with the iPhoto Library it is designed to be accessed only via iPhoto and trying to manipulate image files directly can compromise the entire library.

As to organisation you can do two things - either reorganise the way they are displayed in iPhoto and let the app take care of the folder structure or put the photos into the order you want outside of iPhoto and then tell iPhoto to reference the files but not consolidate them to a single library.

Are you familiar with Smart Folders? That's a useful way of organising stuff within the app.
