Re: New Macbook - 14th October `08

I bought a tucano slip from the apple store for my MBP, but I hate it. Has a stupid logo saying MB on the front which makes it look cheap and nasty. its basically a neoprene slip like my incase one for my (sorry, my wife's) macbook which I do like link.

I think slip cases aren't enough for the MBP, so I bought an incase bag from the apple store in ann arbor michigan while I was out there last week. A little thicker than the slipcases, but it has handles that can tuck out of the way into pockets, and some flaps for bits and bobs. So its still small enough to pop into a larger backpack but also can go out on its own, yet isn't as bulky as most standard laptop bags. might have been this one link

edit: Although the brenthaven edge II looks nice link

Re: New Macbook - 14th October `08

If I hadn't bought my leather bag I'd have got one of these: LArobe Black White for MacBook 13,3" by be.ez - Apple Store (U.K.)

Not sure it'd have been very good for protection though, which is another reason I got the one I did.

Re: New Macbook - 14th October `08

I got one of these bags after LFC's recommendation. Will be good for travelling and the MB will fit in it with a slip on padded case too. Plenty of space for other stuff.

Re: New Macbook - 14th October `08

are apple not doing any special offers on Macs now then? I know they were doing a £95 rebate on an ipod nano up to 31st October but thats obviously finished now - i was hoping for a better offer to come along...

Back to school has finished, as most people are back at school by now

I don't think they will be doing anything else now. They have a free printer (£60 rebate) offer, but that's it. But now it's a recession, who knows

Was about a week from the invoice email to delivery (still waiting!). Log into your account and have a look.

Thanks, it's still due 11th Nov, the wait is killer!

Is the printer/iPod rebate streamlined?

Re: New Macbook - 14th October `08

I got the invoice today with a delivery date of 30/10/08

On the UPS tracking site it says it was cleared in Apeldoorn, then had a departure scan in Koeln in Cologne, and now it has an arrival scan in Apeldoorn again????
Expected delivery date is still tomorrow but I have no idea where it is now?

It's just saying that its processing clearance for Apeldoorn in the first instance, not that your item is in Apeldoorn.
