My contract was up so went on the hunt yesterday. Came out of phones 4 u with 900 mins, unlimited text, 750mb data 35 month. Free galaxy s 2.

Ive kept my iphone but have to say, the s2 is lightning fast and does make the iphone 4 seem dated. Whether it lasts as a long term replacement is yet to be seen but so far, gingerbread is fantastic. The only things im missing so far are... Hipstamatic and genius playlists.

I can synch through itunes and theres a remote for itunes.

The galaxy s 2 really is rapid though, web pages load bizzarrely fast, as do apps.

The ppi count is not as good and you can see that noticeably. The best bits are the notifications!

Anyway, time will tell

I returned mine after two days, I found gingerbread laggy at times, the phone was too big and felt cheap in comparison to the iPhone.

Android was cool, I actually think I'd prefer the smaller galaxy S.

I really like the size and weight, its really light but I wouldnt have said cheap, its put together really well. I said 'really' a lot there!

Not seen any lag whatsoever as of yet.

It's interesting that you get the handset free with the contract.

Shelling out £300 or whatever for each iPhone upgrade on contract can be a bit much...

Im thinking about the sII but kinda put off that it is quite a large surface area and would look a idiot walking down the street holding a small tablet to my ear. But the screen is amazing

Vodafone have reintroduced 12month contracts, of course you pay a little more.

Hope you like Android. I moved from iPhone after iOS started to seem a little dated and restrictive in comparison. I believe Android will improve now that Google are tightening the reins slightly and making manufacturers sign up to providing timely updates to the OS for devices for 18months (hardware capabilities permitting).

I'm Really happy with my Nexus S. If you want a different launcher which is quick and simple I recommend ADW Launcher ex (ex = paid version, but can just try ADW standard for free). Unlike iPhone you are free to switch between launchers, just pop one on, try it and if you don't like it use HomeSwitcher to swap back to standard one and phone is back to how it was.
