Configuring LX01 as a soundbar / front stage surround

Hi,
I have been looking at buying LX01 but my problem is that I can't easily accomodate 4/5/7 speaker arrangement, I can only just manage front speakers and a subwoofer. I understand that speakers on LX01 can be joined in pairs and on that basis it can run as a 2.1 system with the speakers directing sound to make it appear as a full so in the same way as soundbars (e.g. YSP-40D). Has anyone tried using LX01 in that configuration and has some feedback on how good it is at doing that?
