John Lewis (What Would You Do)

Had a panasonic scpt-450 aio system for 16 months. it is now faulty but has a 2yr guarantee. Took it back to john lewis saturday. Phone call today to say parts on order but not expected till end of april. Since this falls outside their 28 day turnaround, This is what they offered.
A choice of systems (assuming price limit on what i can have)
Like for like unit replacement
Newer version with optical in
Or a refund (it was free offer when purchased with plasma tv)

Only prob with diff system or refund is i need to rip up cables/fit new cheap cable to speakers.

I do fancy this (Sony STRDG820)
I also have all my speakers from an old setup 18 years ago which was connected to an old yamaha av reciever, yes surround sound has been around that long.

Your input very welcome
Thanks

So long as you are not putting DTS through the optical connection and were happy with the one you had go for the PT460.Performance is great and probably has the same proprietary speaker connectors to the main unit. Ipod dock very handy as well. Very happy with mine bar the aforementioned DTS achilles heel with my Bluray.
