| Home Cinema without a DVD/BRay player
I have a Samsung LE37A656 TV, and have connected to it a Humax Freesat HD recorder vis a HDMI lead, and my PC, via a HD componant cable and analogue red/white audio, and I want a decent surround sound setup (around the £300-odd mark) which will enable me to plug in both the HD Box and PC via optical inputs at the same time, so I don't have to keep manually switching between sources.
The soundcard on my PC has an optical output, which I presume will give me 5.1 surround sound sound, and the HD recorder has an optical output as well, but only one HDMI which currently goes into the telly.
I really have no idea what I'm talking about, but I hope it makes sense. Basically I want a surround sound system that I can connect both the HD box and PC into at the same time, but without a DVD or Blu-ray player, as I can use my PC to play those.
Also, I would preferably want those tall boy type of speakers. You know, the long tall black ones, rather than little ones you have to put on stands. And all that for around £300. Not asking much am I? lol.
Seriously though, when I type "surround sound system without DVD player reviews" into google, it doesn't seem to know what I'm saying.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if you suggest me setting up my gear in a different way. I'm new to all this!!
