Sony htsf-1300 connections

I have a htsf-1300 and i am very pleased with it. I currently have my laptop connected to it, so that i can play on demand tv programmes and itunes via the speakers. Is there a way that everytime i connect the hdmi cable, i can get my laptop, a sony vgn-ar51e to switch from outputting sound via its speakers to the hdmi cable, as currently i have to change it everytime i connect it. thanks in advance.

If your using Vista then no. XP allows you to output to more than 1 audio device but function was removed in Vista for legal/copyright issues I think to do with HD media.

I still have to manually select my PC speakers or optical out to the TV.
