Panasonic SH-FX67 wireless kit - thoughts?

Hi,

Searched the forums and can't really find a firm opinion one way or the other on this, so thought I'd start a thread.

I'm planning on buying a SCPT860EBK all-in-one to go with my 37" Panny plasma, but the wife isn't keen on wires everywhere and due to the room layout ripping out walls and what-not isn't an option.

I know the 'purists' will say that wired is best, but for the average Joe (i.e me) are there any strong reasons for not getting a wireless kit? Is the sound decent? Is there crackling/interference?

Your advice would be appreciated!

Dave

Re: Panasonic SH-FX67 wireless kit - thoughts?

I too was looking at wireless but i`ve come to the conclusion it cant be truely wireless without being a pain, rears needing power etc.

I decided there would be as much cable on show with getting power to the rears- so i`m opting for a wired sony 1300 instead. Where wires are exposed i`ll use white cable and small staples to the white skirting- i may even caulk or silicon seal over them to hide them. In other areas i can get a cable between the floor and the skirting- and in other areas they can hide behind furniture.

i`ve gone round the hosues on wireless systems- but when i sat down and drew up where the wires would be- and what could be hidden- it was a no brainer to go part wireless.

Re: Panasonic SH-FX67 wireless kit - thoughts?

Bought and installed the very Panasonic kit about 2 weeks ago.

So far does work well, the only criticism so far and this all depends on your room set up and how far you have the rear speakers away from you.

They do emit a small hiss, particularly noticeable if the volume is down or quiet bit of a film etc. When the volume is up and there is noise coming out then they sound perfect.

The wireless works well, but each speaker does need to be connected to the wireless unit - we have no issues with that as it sits beneath the sofa.

Hope this helps.
