videologic digitheatre dts centre speaker detachable?

Hey chaps,

I have just bought a videologic digitheatre dts from this forum and is coming tomorrow, but me being an excited schoolboy as usual, have a question....

The reviver obviously has the centre speaker built in but is this removable or is there an output for the centre speaker as I have a 6" screen and my centre and front left/right above my screen on the wall (so door won't hit them when opened).

Obviously I can't really mount the reciver on the celing and my xbox is behind me with the projector so the optical cable is only 2 metres long.

Any ideas on an output for the centre speaker?

thanks

Darren

is it this one?:
DVD Times - Videologic DigiTheatre DTS
if so, no, you cant remove the centre speaker.
can you not put the centre speaker below the screen?
i suggest a re-positioning of your system,as a matter of course,if this is the case.

Re: videologic digitheatre dts centre speaker detachable?

I have a 6" screen bolted to the far wall, A shelf behind my sofa with the xbox on and my pc, and projector above my head, Its a very small room and I can't really put the xbox anywhere else.

Its the second bedroom in my house but just want to put the centre speaker in the centre and the reciver next to the sofa.

Might just have to open her up and take the feed off the centre speaker

Re: videologic digitheatre dts centre speaker detachable?

like i say, a re-organisation of the room sounds in order.
maybe the pc/xbox under or to the side of the screen, along with sub and centre speaker, and the other speakers elsewhere, with a longer cable from front to back of room, to connect the xbox/pc to the pj.
sounds more feasable than where you have it at the moment, what with your new systems styling(centre speaker integrated, etc).

mine is all near/under my screen, with a 12 metre hdmi cable from front of room to back, connecting it all to the pj.

Re: videologic digitheatre dts centre speaker detachable?

do toslink cables loose quality the longer they are?
I'm guessing not as its optical

I could possibly run the optical from the xbox to the front of the room.

the problem I have is I moved house 2 weeks ago and the room is 6"2' wide and 9" long (minus the distance for the projector to mount)

My last place was much bigger, but I had to sacrafice the second room, for a third and conservatory

the door basically swings open into the screen and goes almost half-way across the wall.

If i was to go with a longer optical cable does anyone know a cheap place to get them as I am now skint

cheers

Darren

Re: videologic digitheatre dts centre speaker detachable?

thanks,

good prices too!!

I think this might be my best option but will see what happens when it arrives.

If I were to get a 'cheap' 5m cable I wouldn't be loosing much of the audio quality would I?

thanks again

Re: videologic digitheatre dts centre speaker detachable?

No,you would lose none of it..its a digital cable,so it will either work,or not work.
ive not had any issues with any cables bought from there, and would say they are very good quality.
i use the "Pure" one, just above the "cheap" 5 metre cable, and have had no issues with it.
