Got the system today and hooked it all up, but have one MASSIVE problem. When I plugged in the subwoofer the metal pin thats at the end of the cable broke off into the Audio Out subwoofer hole. Any idea's how to get this out again? Desperate for some help, as only just setup and already not working

Update on the situation. I have tried plugging in one of those red-white cables and it goes through and I can hear some bass. I assume that the red-white cable are obvious the wrong cable. Bit I do hear some bass, so the subwoofer must be working... Would that be correct I assuming so?
Thanks

If the end of the cable has broken off the sub its self should still work... as its the connection thats broken. You might just need a replacement sub wire; but i'm not 100% sure if there are specific sub wires, but the red/white cables probably wont be suitable at a guess.

The tip of the cable broke of in the amp itself.. But using the red/white cable there is some sort of noise..So it must still be fine. And will get myself another subwoofer cable (as they look pretty standard. The male bigger single rca plug..)

Best of luck anyways... When you say some sort of noise; is it bass or static? Does the sub make the correct noise that a sub should?
If you have no concerns and it sounds like it should i cant see there being a problem but i dont know that much re av. Still learning as we all are |

It makes the noise a sub should make (I think) as there's no static and you can hear faint sounds of the movile, song ect coming out of it...

What settings do people use on the PS3 and AMP to get the best out of the 5.1 sound?
Also when playing a dvd on the PS3 any speech is really quiet, turning the volume up means music and sound effects are then to loud. Have to change the amp to 2CH. Anyone else have this problem.
Connection is through HDMI.

Hi! Everyone!
I have to silly questions to Sony HT-DDWG800 happy owners.
1. Did You have any trouble mounting speakers on the wall? Aren’t they too massive?
2. Central speaker is also can be wall-mounted, isn’t it?
3. Does the device really produce HD sound decoded in PS3?
thanks

No,if its HD audio it will only be available from hdmi.
if its standard audio(say, from a dvd player or xbox 360,something liek that),use optical, for digital 5.1.

at the very least, a yellow composite video cable will suffice,as it "should" be the same as a sub cable, that is, 75hms resistance.
as for plugging this in,into a broken cable,in the amp...get the remaining end out first..dont go shoving more into the hole,as you are now close to breaking it,and i guess that isnt covered by warranty.

Connection is through HDMI. | why not just turn up the centre speaker,or manually set the speakers up/even carry out the auto cal again,...you do really need to RTFM!!

thanks | 1. not with a decent set of mounts.
2. you could mount it with a larger bracket,or two small ones, but more or less you might have to screw something to the actual speaker,as it doesnt contain a screw hole.
