The receiver is too big to go on one of my shelves in my unit and I was thinking as an option of placing my samsung LE26R87 on top but was a little sceptical about weight and overheating the reciever as it would block the vents. If you need an idea of the mess I have at the moment heres a picture (excuse the bad quality, taken on my iphone)

i wouldnt put the tv on it,due to heat/weight and instability issues.
a new tv unit or a small side unit would be better i think..
or if you wanted to ,just leave it where it is.

if you wanted a cheap tv stand, what about this one:
Vistron 3-Tier Glass TV Stand For 42" to 60" screens Clear Glass and Chrome Finish - Ebuyer
£29.99 and pretty much the same size as you have now,but with the lower shelf having more clearance.

if so, the only problem you will have is with DTS on the 350,as the player and receiver dont decode it,so you will just get standard DTS(still sounds great though)

I've got the 350 setup to auto. The sound is good I was just wondering if I had it setup wrong. I'll have another look at it tonight.

Just to confirm what should I ideally have it set on?

The mounts are made from strong plastic with a simple bolt for movement. They fit the front speakers perfectly however I had a saw a couple of cm off the rear ones to make them fit correctly (took a few minutes max).

All in all they do the job perfectly and hold the speakers securely and don't stick out like a sore thumb so if you want to wall mount your speakers I would definitely recommend them.

If anyone has any questions about them ask away.

Can you please elaborate, possibly pictures or them mounted also?

Thanks.

Re: Sony HT-DDWG800 Home Theatre Sys REVIEW

Hey all,

Is it possible to connect the system up and just use the front speakers? I have to wait until my mate can mount the rear speakers and not going to attempt it myself so thought I would just get the front ones going, is that possible?

Thanks

Re: Sony HT-DDWG800 Home Theatre Sys REVIEW

Well my sound system came yesterday

Word of warning (and I should have known better) - Pixmania did not send any Euro Converter plug (not one!!) so had to run out to the shops to grab a second one.

Otherwise I'm impressed (have only tested a Transformers Blue Ray). I will put up a mini review after the weekend when I set it up properly with everything working

yeh,you could do,but i would set up all the speakers, and just have the rears on the floor in the meantime,to make sure they work, and to get ahead on the mounting plan.

glad to see yours arrived. I thought the same about the plug converter but it was right at the very bottom of mine underneath some of the polystyrene so just double check. If you haven't received one then that is a tad unlucky.

Re: Sony HT-DDWG800 Home Theatre Sys REVIEW

Here is the picture for anyone that would like to see it.

You will see by looking at the top and bottom of the bracket where I have had to saw at the top. This isn't needed with the front speakers as they don't have to protrusion for a screw.

Excuse the quality of the picture I had to use my phone.

Re: Sony HT-DDWG800 Home Theatre Sys REVIEW

Thanks for posting that picture. Just had a look at them on the argos website and they seem to have poor reviews so i'm put off a little if i'm honest. Would you recomend them for these particular speakers though as your the best person to ask for as i would be fitting them to these speakers if i did buy the mounts.
Do they sag at all? If you recomend them i'll probably take a shot with them and hopefully i'll be pleased
Thanks.

As leckie said, he had to saw off the top of the bracket so that the mounting bracket could fit the rear speakers, so unless you are as handy with a saw then by all means

Otherwise I think you are better off getting something else. Amazon has quite a few to choose from, some like the Omnimount £28.99 or the B-Tech BT33/W £2.72 which also includes adaptors for key hole, single point and dual point speaker fittings. I don't use speaker wall-mounts so I'm no expert but I use the B-Tech BT11 Speaker stands and the adaptors which they included seem to do the job!

This is a picture of how the adaptors look when mounted with speaker stands...maybe you can email B-tech and ask if these are the same adaptors provided for the wall mounts and if so you can make your own decision from there!

Re: Sony HT-DDWG800 Home Theatre Sys REVIEW

Thank you very much for the reply godfarter.
I quite like the look of the b-tech bt33's. Plus saves me having to buy a saw
I think when i order the Sony HT-DDWG800 off pixmania i will order the B-tech's in black with their universal mounting options and adjustability suits me perfectly.
Plus quoting from pixmania

Re: Sony HT-DDWG800 Home Theatre Sys REVIEW

Finally got mine set up today. It took a while and I had to go buy some more speaker wire as the wire supplied was quite short. So far I have been pretty impressed with the sound from the ps3 and 360 but tomorrow will be the big test with an actual blu-ray film, probably iRobot. Anyway, thanks for all the help everyone has provided and I'm sure I will try and help anyone who needs it and anyone thinking of buying the system.
