Advice for tomorrows purchase

I have been looking into getting a LG Home Cinema System LG HT902TB, however with funds being lowered slightly (unavoidable) and the fact we also need to buy cables, our budget has been lowered from £300ish, to around £220.

I dont wish to order online, and want to pick my system up tomorrow, but can only spend £220 on one, I wish to setup my 360 Elite, Sky+ and Wii on the system, so need something with at least 1 Optical socket, and Phono Sockets, plus HDMI, whcih both my picks have, I just cant decide which to get, can someone help me with some ideas please??

Here are my choices, I really want to know which is better.

First up, I found an LG HT752TH in my local Currys, for £179.99, it's on special, as it's had £70 knocked off it, it comes with 4 Tallboy Speakers, and is 5.1 system, initial viewing of the back looks like it has Phono and 1 Opitcal Socket for my 360 to go into.

Secondly, in my local Comet is a Samsung HTTX22, This was £249.99 and only has 2 Tallboy speakers, and 2 small ones, plus centre speaker. buying this one would make sense as it's same brand as my TV, but I hear the Samsungs Home Cinemas arent so great? the other downside is I wouldnt be able to get all my cables till 3 weeks after which sucks, is this system worth the messing about? when If I buy the LG system, I can walk out tomorrow with everything I need. I am kinda hoping for someone to tell me how great the LG HT752TH systme is, as I am kinda leaning that way, but I know this is not always the case. Any help appreciated.

EDIT, just looking online, it seems the LG does not have an Optical socket, can anyone confirm?

The LG HT752TH does have an optical socket, and for £179.99 is a bargain IMO.

Re: Advice for tomorrows purchase

I know you want to pick up tommorrow BUT!
SKY+ requires optical as well as your XBOX 360 if you want 5.1 from both.
FAR better buy http://www.petertyson.co.uk/ebuttonz...aha_av63.shtml than ANY all-in-one system.

http://www.yamaha-uk.com/pdf/product...ns/RX-V363.pdf

WHY!
1. Better connectivity
2. Upgadable WITHOUT throwing the whole system away
3. Parts can be changed individually if they go faulty.

I know it is nice to have your toys straight away but I would recommend waiting just a couple of days.

Re: Advice for tomorrows purchase

I want an All In One system though, I have eliminated the Samsung for the equation, so just how differant are the 2 LG Models?

Other than one being £260 and one being £180

Can someone tell me the major differances from the LG HT902PB and the LG HT752TH, Is the more expensive system worth the extra £80

I have the HT902PB and in answer to your question - for you it's NOT worth the extra £80.

The Specs for the HT902PB can be found here if you want to check it out.

And I am in total agreement with Lewis123 - YES to an optical socket and YES it is a bargain at that price.

Hope this helps
