Samsung HTZ310R Home Cinema
Hi There,
I have recently been reading all the information about the samsung HTX30R and was not impressed so I did a little looking around and have bought the Samsung HTZ310R, but I can not find any information about it and it had very little info from Dixon's where I bought it.

Can anyone help?

Thanks for that, I was a bit worried that it said you need another unit or something to go with it for the wireless bit, is that only if you want this and does it work perfectly fine without it?
I thought about the bargain first with the discounts off it before I really looked into it, I should be getting it within the next 5 working days, are they simple to install?

Hi
I have a 42px80 and a samsung htz310 the SD quality on the panny is great however when i tried the htz310 on the tv the PQ is terrible. I am only using scart but thought the PQ qould be much much bettr especially since the htz310 has HD upscaling - any ideas where i am going wrong ? would simply using hdmi cable improve PQ ?
thanks

Like the x30 you only need the extra wireless unit if you want it as an option. We never intended to go wireless as there is plenty of cable with the unit and we hid ours under carpets, along skirtings and behind wallpaper.
Easy to install? Yes... the speakers are colour coded, you cant go wrong attaching the cables. We use hdmi to connect to tv and optical to connect to sky box, you can use phono if you dont have optical.
For your interest the bases of each speaker can be taken off and attached to the back to turn into wall brackets, we found this helpful as my existing speaker brackets bought for the X30 were not compatible with the 310.

If i am correct (maybe someone can confirm) you will only get upscaling by using hdmi cable. You will not see an improved difference by using scart. We use hdmi to connect to tv and sky HD box and are pleased with the picture quality on our Samsung LE40R88.
Hope this helps.

Re: Samsung HTZ310R Home Cinema
ok so i tried an hdmi cable and the PQ was just as bad. I tried another DVD and PQ was much better so i can only assume the DVD i was originally trying was of low quality ?
I'm still not 100% happy with the picture as i would have expected better if its upscaling to HD, but I cant seem to find anywhere to configure the settings on the system. I have gone into the menu (when no dvd playing) and can see a setup option but the only area i can see which may allow me to configure anything is the TV Display option and this is greyed out. Is there any where else where you can configure settings e.g. turn off upscaling, set TV resolution etc...
Surely you can configure the system some ?
any help much appreciated
thanks
chris

Re: Samsung HTZ310R Home Cinema
Hello, after nearly 6 weeks of waiting for a replacement for my faulty X30R I have rung dixons up today and asked for a HTZ310r as its replacement as yesterday they rung me and said the X30r was out of stock. It it just as good as the X30r or is there any extra features? the wattage is the same 800w, it has DTS 5.1 and dolby digital 5.1 so it sounds good. All I used the X30r for was surround sound for the ps3, has it got optical in I presume? Sorry for all these questions but I need my surround back, not the same without it. Hope Ive made a good choice and this one doesnt break down after 2 months like the X30r.

Re: Samsung HTZ310R Home Cinema
I myself am very interested in purchasing this home cinema system. Again like others have said searching for Samsung HTZ310R doesent bring up much info. However, dropping the 'r' and searching for HT-Z310 brings up loads of results (mainly from american websites selling it).
Also on the official usa samsung website they have the model HT-Z310T which looks the same?? can someone confirm if these are all the same unit??
Also the amercan websites say this system has an ipod docking station, can anyone who has purchased one in the UK confirm this?
They had this in stock in my local pc world but it wasn't out on display, just packed in boxes on the floor. The box had very little info on in regarding features...
I would love to hear from people who own this and how they are finding its performance??
Thanks peeps

Hi There,
I have just bought HTZ 310R, what would you say is the best thing you liked about this product compared to others?
How is the sound quality, clearity etc.....?
I am going to connect this through HDMI to my new Samsung 46" 6 series.
Regards,
Bobby

Re: Samsung HTZ310R Home Cinema
i ordered this from dixons last friday 09/05/08 and i'm still at order processing stage. i've been waiting a week now :@
i phoned them up and they said it'll likely be dispatched monday for tuesday delivery. why it takes them a min of 5 working days to process is beyond me.

Re: Samsung HTZ310R Home Cinema
My HT-Z310R came today, Ive been playing with it for 2hrs, have to say its amazing and better than the X30R by far. When I ordered this with dixons, website specs said 800watt, I can confirm HT-Z310R is 1000watt and you can hear the difference. Base has more thump yet voice clarity is crystal clear. Ive got it connected up to ps3 same way as I had x30 but 5.1 sounds better, you can actually hear the different sounds coming from each speaker like your supposed to wheras I found with x30 it sound was the same from each speaker. Maybe my x30r was faulty this way to.
Dvds look better playing them through ps3 but thats to do with Ive only 1 hdmi and HT-Z310R is connected using component. Prob be just as good if you use hdmi for your HT-Z310R. I havnt got bluetooth working yet, Il read instructions later. Overall im very happy with it, oh I must try it with my sky plus, hopefully no lip sync issues like X30R. Ill report back later.
P.S. ill try connect an ipod to it too, see if thats compatible like som1 asked
