Help: Problem with Samsung SWA-3000 and Wireless Internet connection
Hopefully this is the right place for this post.. I am a newb, so you'll have to forgive me if I mess up my first post!
I recently purchased a Samsung SWA-3000 Wireless Module to go along with my Samsung HT-WX70 Home Theater system. After setting everything up I started to notice my internet connection to my laptop was really struggling. Well after calling Comcast, unplugging everything a few times and then trying to turn off the Home Theater system I have come to find that the SWA-3000 Wireless Module is affecting my Wireless router. When my Home Theater is off my connection is strong and I have no issues. When the Home Theater is on my connection bounces all over the place.
Has anyone experienced this or know of a possible solution? I have a simple Linksys Wireless Router plugged into my Comcast modem. Everything is in the same room, SWA-3000 is on an opposite wall, but the Home Theater and Linksys Wireless Router are fairly close (3 feet).
Thanks for any help!
Jason

thats the problem with the router you have, and the wireless module, they both work on the same frequency,so are open to interference.
not much can be done about it,i would think, bar swapping the SWA-3000 for a 4000 model, which operates at a higher frequency.

I would think it would be cheaper to buy a new wireless router wouldn't it? Does anyone around here swap the 3000 unit for the 4000?
SWA-3000 is a 2.4GHz and SWA-4000 is a 5.8GHz?

Re: Help: Problem with Samsung SWA-3000 and Wireless Internet connection
cant you return it to the retailer?
i assume that the problem with exist with any 2.4ghz router you buy,so it will be you who has to stump up the cash to buy one that operates on a higher frequency.
i would say ditch the wireless rears,as they are still prone to interference, and can exhude a "hiss" as they are always on,even when not working, like on mute, unlike when wired, and mostly silent.

I don't have any issues with hissing and I know the quality of sound isn't the best. Unfortunately this is the system that best fits the room and budget. I would love to ditch it all and do something much cleaner, but that is for my next house...
I e-mailed the vendor to ask what their return policy was and if there was a possible exchange to be had. We will see what they say.
Thanks for the info.

SWA-4000 arrived today and things seem to be going much smoother!
Now just have to sell this SWA-3000 which is brand new but without box...

What is the SWA-4000 like (performance etc) as I am looking to get the wireless setup along with a HT-TX35R very soon.
I see the 4000 is priced lower than the retail on the 3000 and looks much sleeker.
I just wondered how the box performs in comparison to the 3000 to gauge which one to go for?
Your comments are very much appreciated.

The look of the two didn't matter to me because the unit is hidden behind my couch and no one sees it. The 3000 unit is a bit sleeker if that matters to you.
They both perform equally, but if you have a wireless network in your house the 4000 unit is an absolute must. There is no way I could be listening to something in surround sound while making this post (with the 3000 unit).
