Re: Help me find a 5.1 tallboy system PLS

After I posted the above I managed to track both systems down, but im not sure which to go for? Yesterday I couldn't find any

The samsung can have sync issues but the panasonic is £80 dearer. Not sure which to go for?

Also seen the new samsung HTTZ315, which looks like the update to the TX35, just cant find any reviews. Started a thread on this model trying to get more info but not got a reply yet.

Re: Help me find a 5.1 tallboy system PLS

Just forget 1000+ watts, there is no chance of any all-in-one reaching that power output, you are talking disco level in a large hall. Look at a disco amp it's built into a a huge 19" rack mount case any weigths a ton.
Just look at the power consumption (100-200watts then take away power losses + other power drains and you are not left alot) which will give a better clue to its real output.
As one reviewer stated whilst reviewing some quality AV kit, "Why do manufacterers hyperinflate there output levels with their all-in-ones".
I wish they would give sustained output power continuously ALL Channels driven that would then take away any confusion.

Re: Help me find a 5.1 tallboy system PLS

Mate i just bought a 850.

After some inital problems setting it up, its quality.

Have my ps3 hooked up and the sound is fantastic.

I would recommend this to anyone.

The speakers look sweet, i have attached the front ones to the wall either side of the tv, the rears are still on the stands.

All in all it looks good, sounds good.

Hagle on the price and you might get a better deal,

Re: Help me find a 5.1 tallboy system PLS

The Panny 860 is out now, apparently with improved upscaling (one of the gripes mentioned in the 850's thread) and a few other improvements, go for that above the 850.
Oh and check this LG out, the LG HT903TA. It's the successor of the acclaimed and highly revered 902TB ('What Hi-Fi' 5 star winner), and my gosh 'tis a thing of beauty. You've gotta give it to LG design wise...

Re: Help me find a 5.1 tallboy system PLS

Thanks for the help guys, wow the LG systems do look good

This is going to be a present for my girlfriends dad so I don't think they'll want to pay over 250ish. The pana and LG are probably abit over budget

Think I might try the samy HTTZ315, it seems to fit the spec needed and can be had for about 270 with next day del. Hopefully they would have sorted the sync problems from its older bro, the TX35.

If anybody knows of any more systems I can get for arond the same price please post away, will probably be ordering this wkend.

I'm very impressed with HT-TZ315. Sounds are crisp & loud. I haven't had any syncing issue yet.
