Sony HT-SS1300 or Yamaha AV63.
Hi everyone again.
I recently added a thread asking what was better, Yamaha AV61, Sony DDW890 or Denon 1356 and basically scrapped the Denon and Sony due to the size of that Amp. The Yamaha seamed to be the winner, then I found the Sony HT-SS1100 which tossed things up again.
I cant find the Sony HT-SS1100 in stock anywhere and have now discovered these two beauties. Ok a little bit more money but not much.
The Yamaha AV63 and The Sony HT-SS1300.
I know the Sony will not be upgradable but if the sound is right I wont want to upgrade.
Both about £295, both slimmer in depth and both black.
So which is better? (think I prefer the Sony, but hmmm.)

I think Sony will help you makre your mind up this week if there performance with the 1200 is anything to go by.
1300 is due 7/5/2008 in UK but i very much doubt we will see any stock on that day and I may just opt for the yammy now.
Have you took the plunge yet or you still waiting for the sony

I've been told the 19th for the Sony, already placed my order (£279) but If you plum for the 1300 I'd get in quick as I'm sure the allocation is fast diminishing.
I agree the Yammy might have the better upgrade options but I'm limited on space so need a slim one.

The yammy doesnt carry sound over hdmi but Ive never known a sony product to arrive on time but they is always a first i suppose.

Popped into a Sony shop today and asked about the 1300. Guess what.....date showing 4th July 2008 now and what surprised me was the cost...£399.
Too long and too pricey for me...will look for something else.

At that price you can get the new onkyo 
Set of yammy speakers for £79.00 and far better sound and future proof system

Yeah but c'mon, your talking a Sony centre's price here! - They're pretty much always grossly over inflated... It also sounds like they quoted you an 'SF' (Floorstanders) price, not the 'SS' (Satellites)

Just came across this thread, and see you guys are all finding the AV63 for approaching £300. I happened to stumble upon this sweet deal.
And this one works out the same when you account for the postage costs of the first one.
I've never heard of either of these stores before. the first one does have a few seller reviews on Google which assure me it's legit. Don't know about the second one. I was thinking about placing an order, so I'll let you know how it goes if I do.

Sound & Vision is a legit place to buy from. They also have a shop in Bolton, if you're anywhere near there.
