Annoying Audio Problem
hi guys,
My setup is:
Jamo's DMR61 (5.1 surround system with built in dvd player and hdmi out)
50in Samsung Plasma
Sky +
PS3
Another satellite
When watching a dvd through jamo, or sky or other satelite, the sound is fine, but the ps3 bluray is causing massive problems.
Im forver turing the volume up and down (up for vocals, down for action scenes), and the bass through ps3 is SO high.
I have tried enabling the dynamic range control in the ps3 settings but still the same.
I have ps3 hooked up via digital optical out.
I also have a setting on the receiever for dynamic range control, but i think thats only if im watching a dvd through the receiver
any ideas please guys?
Thanks

Not normally, DRC on the jamo should work on all sources

Is the PS3 sound menu for Octical out set to Dolby Digital ??
The DRC on the Jamo only works on a DD source (According to manual)

well actually the input mode on the receiver says pro logic, cos its conneced via digital optical, so I dont think that counts as DD, even though the audio on the bluray is set to dolby digital

Theres your problem, so you are not getting true 5.1 via the PS3
The Jamo should be flagging up Dolby Digital then you can set up the DRC
I would have a play with the audio output on the PS3
Set to 'BITSTREAM'

just checked and it does say dolby digital, but I have the audio setup to pro logic (other options are, movie, stereo, but with these settings there is no surround sound)
ALso, just remembered that setting the DRC on the ps3 whilst watching Casino Royale worked, but it hasnt on ratatouille. I wonder if it has anyting to do with the audio formats on the discs?

Re: Annoying Audio Problem
Similar problem to yours mate - the vocals just get drowned out - the update didn't seem to have any affect. Was more for stability issues.
