All in one for £1,200

My requirements...

- DVD player
- Radio
- excellent sound for TV (5:1)
- excellent sound for music
- possibility to connect IPOD

(this will connect into 32" Panasonic LCD)

Thats about it. Looked at various offerings (BOSE, Linn etc) but just can't decide on what is best.

If people believe that I would be better off buying seperates then please offer some advice as to which ones, want to just order everything together and get up and running.

Thanks

Re: All in one for £1,200

Do not go Bose, it's a waste of dough.

Consider (this is a best VFM shout)

Onkyo 605 amp.

SVS SBS-01 speakers

and a SVS PB12-NSD sub

Pretty much bang on the money, if you look around

But no doubt it's all too big (it usually is anyway).

If you can stretch your budget a bit, look at Pioneers LX-01.

agree.

it has 2x hdmi inputs 1 output ( 3 inputs i think but one is for the subwoofer i think)

accepts and processes trueHD, and DTS-HD, 1080p 24hz pass through also (a first and all you really need)
its non intrusive with no real center speaker (ideal for those mounting a tv over a fireplace)
but it is pricey..

if there was say a £600 model with true-hd 1080p 24hz pass through (easliy done with the upcoming nxt gen all-in-ones this summer) and say 2x hdmi then the only point in owning this would be the looks and HD-recorder.

id wait a bit for some 'next-gen' all-in-ones. there becoming a lot better and a lot more popular, even some enthusiasts will choose them for say gaming and movie use, ok there not separates but there all designed on computer to work with each other i.e player, amp, speakers to produce best sound for the pound and all decent ones feature auto room EQ and a digital amp.

just hang onto the cash a few more months or get the LX-01
