Re: wireless all in one system (help)

Virgin+ requires an optical input as does the XBOX, the Sony has one optical input only so without adding optical switches (nasty) you are stuck.
As for wireless you do realise you will require a power point and there will be a wire between the rear speakers, so for all the qauilty issues and hassle you would be better looking at a 5.1 system that a has wires and more optical inputs. I doubt the Virgin and XBOX will be the last items that you get and need optical connections for?

Re: wireless all in one system (help)

I am not the best person to advise on a all-in-one system, hate them.
They can not be upgraded.
One bit goes wrong it means throw it ALL away.
In flexible.
Useless connectivity, need I say more.
If I had your money to spend I would be looking at something like this
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/5420...ema-syste.html with a upscaling DVD player http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/5447...vd-player.html any part is replacable/upgradable has good connectivity. Connect DVD player with Digital co-ax and the XBOX and Virgin with optical cables.
http://www.yamaha-uk.com/pdf/product...ns/RX-V361.pdf you can even connect a Blu-Ray player which has Dolby HD to the 5.1 direct inputs, trying doing that on a all-in-one. Just add a set of stands from Argos for the speakers.

Re: wireless all in one system (help)

XBOX dependant on which one is HDMI or Component to TV for video, Virgin + is HDMI.
For sound and connections to the AV amp then optical cables, one for each for full Dolby Digital dependant on sound track, and for basic TV sound, i.e. Freeview/analogue TV then a stereo phono cable to the AV amp, but the AV amp needs to be switched to Dolby pro logic (pretend surround), but do check TV connections first.
