HELP! Re Samsung HT-TXQ120R

Got given this as a gift from my brother on moving house (nice brother!).

However always had a problem with a hum from it since day one.

The other night in a fit of desperation I tried to upgrade the firmware via the samsung website. It all seemed to work but turning the machine on it has crashed and there is no way of accessing it.

I spoke to samsung and they will fix it, I just need a receipt showing proof of purchase and herein lies the problem...

I spoke to my brother and he bought it from an AV shop in Plymouth and hasn't kept the receipt. He spoke to them and they won't give him a duplicate.

Although the system is practically brand new and has only been available for a few months samsung say they need it to prove it is within the 1 year guarantee!

can anyone help?

Many thanks in advance,

Roger

Re: HELP! Re Samsung HT-TXQ120R

what you are asking is illegal, and constitutes fraud, and also they then would be without the receipt they owned.

i would advise you to go and speak to the retailer again,and/or ask your brother to look out the bank details/credit card statement..which is enough,to prove its purchase date.
and if that cant be done,i would get in touch with samsung again, and explain.
they might help.
