Computer speakers or Home Theater

I have a Samsumg Plasma and Samsung HD 860 DVD Player.

a) Now i am thinking that buying a good 5.1 PC speakers from creative or Altec lansing can do the work for me or i need a amplifier too?

b) Or i bought a Digital AV Receiver System

c) or buy a new home theater system with dvd player?

well,as you have a dvd player,you could rule out "c".
so your options leave you with the possibility of a receiver/speakers,or a pc style sound system.
best bet is to check out the forums here..as you havent ruled out size/no. of speakers,etc.
