Hope some one can set me straight , about to upgrade to a new system

Was looking at:
HK AVR 245
HK 37 DVD PLAYER
HK 2:1 SPEAKERS AND SUB WOOFER

Is this a good set up ?
Would the Pioneer be better ?

I have an old Panasonic SC-MT1 , could I use the speaker system from that or would I be better off getting the new HK speakers,any thoughts would be very helpfull
